The City Project allows players to donate unused items for the benefit of their city. It is a permanent feature available on all game worlds. Once you reach 1,000 Prestige, the City Project unlocks automatically. A pop-up will confirm access and explain the basics.
How It Works
Click on your city and open the “City Project” tab (next to Overview and Passengers).
You’ll see:
The next reward and how many Project Points are still needed
A contribution ranking
A button to "Contribute to this Project"
In the contribution window:
Click “Exchange Rates” to see how many points each item is worth.
Select the item and amount you wish to donate.
You can only contribute up to the number of points still needed for the current reward.
Click “Donate” to confirm.
⚠️ A confirmation popup only appears if you are donating gold.
Rewards and Progression
Each City Level allows for up to 5 rewards.
Once all 5 are unlocked, the city must level up before new rewards can be earned.
If the city levels up before unlocking all 5, the remaining rewards are lost.
Rewards must be unlocked in order and cannot repeat within the same city level.
Some rewards apply to all players connected to the city; others are vouchers given only to hometown players.
Active rewards appear at the top right of your screen with other bonuses.
Examples of Rewards
City-wide bonuses:
Revenue bonus (city and industry transports)
Waiting time reductions
Prestige bonuses
Better competition rewards
Vouchers (individual rewards):
Engine, wagon, track, or investment vouchers
Power bonus or mechanic vouchers
Instant upgrade or dispatch vouchers
Research points, money, lottery tickets
Licence, headquarters, and building upgrade vouchers
“Collect all trainspotters” voucher
Bonus engine upgrade
Gold
Project Point System
Each item you contribute grants a specific number of Project Points (viewable in “Exchange Rates”).
The cost per point depends on the era.
The number of points needed for each reward increases by 50% compared to the previous one.
Example:
Reward 1: 50 points
Reward 2: 75 points
Reward 3: 113 points, etc.
Point requirements also depend on the city’s level and population.
The Magnus Bonus Engine
As a bonus, one of the five reward tiers in each city level hides the Magnus bonus engine.
The engine is awarded randomly to a contributor.
The exact location is unknown until it is claimed.
Smart Contributions
Over-contributions (exceeding the required points) will roll over to the next reward.
If someone unlocks the reward before you click donate:
If your contribution isn’t needed, it will not be used.
If only part of your contribution is needed, only that amount will be taken.
